We had our first backyard camping adventure last night! It was definitely a learning experience! Unfortunately, Anthony was home the latest he has been all year, so we had to eat dinner without him and set up the tent in the dark. Roasting hot dogs and smores in the fire pit was so much fun and the kids were very good about the fire and the roasting sticks. The kids did really well up until bedtime, but I almost called off the whole thing and made them sleep inside! But, we got through it and everyone was asleep by 11pm I think. We did have fun too!
Ready to roast hot dogs!
Doesn't he look like such a big boy!
See we are being good, can we have smores now?
Gavin and his smore
Lexi and her smore
Yumm!
Tent all set up
I recovered our outside table chairs with sunbrella fabric, so they are actually made for outdoors now!

This looked like so much fun. But, I'm sure the sleeping was challenging. Both the kids look so big. It has only been two weeks since I've seen them, so why do they look so old now?? Hopefully this is the first of many backyard campouts. It helps when you live in a city with great night time weather. Have fun!!
You're ready for the real thing now? Did Gavin watch the stars? Those smores made me hungry!
